Pepperdine University's global initiative to expand access to justice and prepare the next generation of leaders for meaningful change.
When justice is delayed, people suffer.
In many places around the world, individuals accused of crimes are held in prison while awaiting trial to determine their guilt or innocence. But when every case must go through a full, lengthy, and costly trial, already strained justice systems become overwhelmed—resulting in massive case backlogs and severely overcrowded prisons.
For many, pretrial detention stretches from months into years, prolonging uncertainty and hardship for both the accused and victims. This delay not only impacts lives but also undermines confidence in the justice system.
We provide holistic solutions to systemic delays of justice and equip others to do the same.

In partnership with judicial leaders, we help expand pathways to representation and timely case resolutions.
We provide law students and practicing attorneys academic training and hands-on opportunities around the world to advocate on behalf of those in need.
A Prison Project is an immersive, field-based experience that brings law students and attorneys into real cases alongside our international partners.
At the invitation of a national judiciary, participants work inside prisons with multidisciplinary teams of local and international attorneys and students to help move cases toward resolution through plea bargaining. This is not a simulation. It is hands-on work that advances individual cases while strengthening the systems that deliver justice.
